The KGI-XT Series Knife Gate Valve features:
HP-XT Polyurethane Full Body Replaceable Liner
The KGI-XT is designed with a HP-XT Polyurethane full body replaceable liner that completely isolates the body from any slurry.
Benefit: High temperature or acidic slurry will quickly damage any “standard” knife gate valve. By having a full body HP-XT Polyurethane liner, the XT’s body is completely protected from acidic pipeline media. This protection layer means that the KGI-XT Knife Gate Valve body will never be in direct contact with high temp or acidic solutions. With the liner being easily replaceable – maintenance can simply be done without hassle when necessary.
Extra Thick Gate
The KGI-XT Series is designed with an extra thick gate, far thicker than more traditional knife gate valves in the industry.
Benefit: Thanks to the extra thickness, the gate is able to cut through acidic slurry with ease. Unlike most knife gates that will bend or deform under pressure, the KGI-XT’s thick gate eliminates any risk of damage.
The KGI-XT Has Various Orientation Possibilities
Another great feature of the KGI-XT Series Knife Gate Valve is that it can reliably perform in both horizontal and vertical positions, as well as upside down. With a fully-enclosed body and integrated scrapers there is no risk of media jamming the gate. Usually, slurry accumulates and hardens in the body of a traditional knife gate valve when not installed vertically.
Benefit: On most horizontal pipelines, installing a valve vertically is not always possible due to space constraints. The KGI-XT’s versatility in such spaces is a huge benefit for clients.
Fully Enclosed Valve Body – No Discharge During Operation
On the KGI-XT, the fully-enclosed valve body ensures the gate will shut off pipeline media whilst remaining within the body. This ensures that no high temperature pipeline media is being discharged to the surrounding environment. Unlike a traditional knife gate valve design that is a “push-through” operation – the gate has to push-through the valve’s sleeves to close.
Benefit: By being fully-enclosed, the KGI-XT will not discharge any of its pipeline media when open or closing. With no discharge, there is no risk of harmful solutions damaging the surrounding environment.
Integrated Seats
With harmful high temperature solutions, it’s critical that risk of leakage is minimised. Our KGI-XT designed with Integrated seats, the XT ensures zero leakage during operation. Regardless of which side pressure comes from – the XT’s gate will remain sealed.
